NEW  Tranquility Block of the Month and Full Kit Pre-Order NEW

 

Tranquility designed by Toni Steere and Jenny Foltz of Wing and a Prayer Design features the Tranquility collection designed by Wing and a Prayer for Timeless Treasures. The palette ranges from aqua to deep sea blues on a foundation of sandy creams and beiges with coral accents. This program includes your pattern and all the original fabrics needed to make the quilt top, borders, and binding. For your convenience you can choose either our 12 month block of the month program or the complete yardage kit. The finished size of your Tranquility quilt will be 106" x 106".

All blocks are sewn with simple straight and diagonal seams. No templates or paper piecing required!

Enjoy trying your hand at a wide range of distinctly different quilt blocks - 182 in all - from stunning to simple blocks to intricate paper pieced designs! All of the blocks in this contemporary yet traditional quilt measure 4" x 5". Carol Hopkins and Linda M. Koenig have put together well written instructions and beautiful images of each of the 182 blocks in their book The 4" x 5" Quilt-Block Anthology. The blocks feature red, double pink, black and blue reproduction fabrics plus backgrounds. The fabrics used in this block of the month program are reproduction Civil War prints in colors similar to those used in the original quilt. This program includes all fabric for the quilt top, borders, and binding. Fabrics are packaged by block for your convenience. The finished size of your quilt will be 77.5" x 93.5".

This class will introduce you to quilting by machine and rotary cutting. You'll learn tips and tricks to make your quilting journey a successful one. One of our knowledgeable staff members will lead you through each and every step of our comprehensive 7 session course.  You will learn how to make good color choices, rotary cutting skills, proper piecing techniques, machine quilting your quilt and binding ... everything you’ll
need to become a successful quilter! You must be comfortable operating your sewing machine to take this class. You will make a baby or lap size quilt. We request you purchase fabrics for this project from Quilting by the Bay.

Are you scared of hexagon quilts because of possible y-seams? Then this One Block Wonder could be for you because there are no y-seams. You will learn tips and tricks on how to stack and cut your fabric to get the kaleidoscope effect you want. On Friday you will focus on cutting your fabric and beginning to put your hexagons together. Saturday's class will be spent seeing the “magic” happen with the design.
