Women’s Voices Quilt

Women's Voices quilt top

Women's Voices with black sashing

I finally finished my Women’s Voices quilt top! I used the black sashing instead of the tan and I think it really came out nice. I was torn though, the tan sashing we picked for the quilt is really pretty too. I just might have to make another quilt. :)

As I worked on the blocks I saved all of the scraps and then used them for the cornerstones in the sashing to add more color. This quilt is 90″ x 90″ square. I think it may be the biggest quilt I have ever made. I usually stick to lap quilts, wall hangings and tote bags so this was a nice challenge for me.

We still have a few openings left if you want to join the Women’s Voices Block of the Month program.  You have your choice of black or tan sashing. Remember to save your scraps for the cornerstones!

No matter what Block of the Month program you are participating in be sure to check our Block of the Month support page for tips, recommended accessories and fabric keys. We also post info here on the blog. You can find it by clicking the Block of the Month tab at the top of this page.

Happy Sewing!

I LOVE your instructions. I wish I would have had them when I first started. I’m now on Block 5. I’m hoping you will have instructions for the remaining blocks. Maybe some day I will have mine finished!

You are an inspiration and I really appricate your hard work. I know writing up the tip pages had to be VERY time consuming.

    Thanks again.

    Tracy,

Good Morning. Your quilt is stunning. I just rec’d block #4 and am so happy with how the blocks are turing out. I’m wondering what size scraps we will need for the cornerstones in the sashings?

    Thank you.

Your quilt is stunning! I hope you do post more information about the constuction of it later on. I agree with you the black just sets off all the blocks! I can’t wait to hear more details. I’m still working on my Women’s Vocies quilt kits. I purchased mine years ago, but I plan on following along with your blog and will purchase the materials to complete the quilt from your shop.

Take care and thank you for all the inspiration.
