Machine Applique
With so many of the new Block of the months and kits that feature machine applique, this class will explore options for machine applique -- both raw edge and prepared. We will look at different methods for stitching the applique down, using those stitches available on your sewing machine. This class is for Confident Beginners

Finishing Class
Have you always wanted to learn how to finish your binding, apply prairie points, scallop the edges, put borders on so they aren’t wavy, miter your corners? That’s what this class will teach you. Come join us and we will clean up some finishing touches

Beginning Sewing NEW
This class is for the beginner that would like to venture into sewing or quilting. You will become familiar with your sewing machine and learn how to clean and maintain it to keep in working condition. Learn how to wind a bobbin, thread machine, adjust tension, learn about sewing terms, types of fabric and thread, sew a straight seam, turn corners, backstitch, finish and press your seams just like a professional. After you practice sewing techniques, you will make a beautiful pillow case with finished seams.

Hand Appliqué
This class focuses on appliqué preparation and hand stitching. It is a technique class that introduces both needleturn and prepared appliqué and many variations of each method.

Bargello Quilt NEW
This is a Bargello quilt using 2 ½” strips to form a beautiful quilt with a lovely range of colors, from light to dark. The quilt will measure 64” by 80”, without borders. Traditional Bargello designs are very colorful, and use many hues of one color, which produces intricate shading effects. The patterns are naturally geometric. It will be taught in three different sessions, so there will be homework to accomplish within the week.
Thursday’s, March 8, 15, and 22 from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm please bring a lunch and snacks for yourself.

Are you new to quilting and want to learn more about this fascinating art? Join our Quilting Basics Class to learn the tools of the trade and quilting lingo.
Saturday – March 3, 2012 from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm

Class Fee $10.00, free when signing up for the Quilting 101 Class
Quilting 101 NEW
This 3 session beginning quilting class covers all the basics and takes you through each step in quilt making with tips and techniques that give you a good foundation for your quilting career. We will learn how to cut your fabric, piece your quilt top and then layer, baste, quilt and bind your quilt.
Quilting Basics Lecture is a pre-requisite for this class.

♦ Remember to register early – class size is limited! Class pre-registration and pre-payment is a must.
♦ If you are unable to attend a class you are welcome to send someone in your place. If you call at least one week prior to the first class session you’ll receive an in-store credit.
♦ Please come prepared for class. All supplies should be purchased in advance as we items may be out of stock on the day of class.
♦ Patterns, books, and handouts cannot be shared or reproduced due to copyright laws and may not be returned once purchased.
♦ Classroom space is limited so please no children or visitors in class.
♦ We encourage you to bring a sack lunch for long classes; a refrigerator is available for your convenience. All drinks in the classroom must be in glasses/bottles with lids.
